The Word is the very expression of God (John 1:1). Jesus "explained
God" and therefore when we see Him, we see God. Jesus is by His very
nature God. He cLls ua to intimacy!

Fresh New Hope Rising with the Incense

This is my first blog posting and is being written with Doug's encouragement. And, as I engage in this "New Blog Thing" with a little trepidation, I stand in awe of our Great and Almighty God who has already revealed His fingerprints before the midnight hour that began our forty day fast.

Last night, I excitedly and eagerly reached my hand into a basket for some prayers to toss into the fire pit- to symbolically watch them burn up to heaven's throne before my very eyes. To say goodbye with thanksgiving and praise to the old and to embrace the new work God was initiating in our hearts.

I received three prayers from the basket and spontaneously a friend and I each read aloud, praying in aggreement over the prayers in our hands. I continued to read mine silently while she threw hers in the fire pit. I was utterly amazed to see that the third prayer in my hands was my very own personal prayer to the Father, crying out my anguish about how far my marriage was from reflecting His Kingdom. I had asked the Lord to bring LIFE to my Marriage and to all marriages. I asked Him to restore and heal my marriage and the marriages of those I know.

As I re-read this prayer written months ago, fresh hope rose within me because God encouraged me by letting me see the symbolic incense as it rose before Him in a powerful way and that act by HIM increased my faith that He not only heard my prayers but was receiving my prayer and answering it. I also am amazed that in big letters in the prayer were Marriage and Life. That is exactly the call we have from this point on church-To pray for Life not Death to Marriage and To God Be The Glory For the Great Things He has Done and Begun. Laura H.

COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Only 1 1/2 more days until our 40 day prayer and fasting season begins. A great quote by the early church fathers says:

Those who feast are empty and famished, whereas those who fast become inebriated by their possession of God.

I don't know about you, but that's what fasting is all about for me -- getting more of God. And I do know from past experiences, that God rewards fasting with a greater sense of His presence and a greater knowledge of His heart and ways. In other words -- we will possess Him in ways we haven't before. I hope to get a big enough drink of the Living Water that I too feel inebriated by my possession of God. I love the way Eugene Peterson puts Jesus' words on the subject:
When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well. (Sermon on the Mount)

I hope people will use this blog to share our ups and downs, our gains and struggles, and the significant experiences we are having...as we pay the small price of doing without... If you weren't a part of this blog during our last prayer season and would like an invitation to be an author on it (that just means you can write your own posts and not just comment), send me an email at roundtheclockprayer@gmail.com

I'm counting the hours...and eating with gusto in the meantime!

A NEW LOOK...A NEW WORK

Our blog has a new look because God is doing a new thing! We have cleared out the prayer room and are in the process of renovating it for the work God will do when we enter into our 40 days of prayer and fasting in September. On your right you can click to sign up for prayer slots -- we believe God will fill the entire 40 days.

God is calling us even now to prepare our hearts, to purify our souls in holiness so that He can do a greater and deeper work to bring revival to our land. How we need it.

Watch this site for further information and updates and please join in the dialogue!

The Call

I have been TIVOing The Call in Washington DC but I have been praying a good portion of the day right alon with the live feed. God has revealed some huge sin in the dark corners of my heart. Attitudes, compromise from a TOTAL SURRENDER to God. It has been a day of inspiration, surrender, repentance, power and miracles. I am making my way to the San Jose International House of Prayer tonight and I am so excited about it. I really want to pray all of this furhter into my soul. God is moving.

The key thing I am carrying is the GAME IS NOT OVER FOR THE UNTIED STATES. God was willing to spare Sodom and Gommorah for a remnant of 10. Well, there is a HUGE crowd and many of us were on our knees with Direct TV's Live Feed.

The part that really tuched me was the call to a pledge of purity...You can find this covenant on www.thecall.com

Another was the prayer for the 300k+ pastors in America...wow....

The brokeness, the power was overwhelming...REVIVAL IS HERE!!!!

I met a "Joshua"....

I had the priviledge to sit and have dinner with "Joshua" last night...well his name is actually Travis....but I saw an answer to my prayer as I have been praying for a "Joshua generation". I am amazed at the work God is doin in his life. He is coming to our ever growing prayer meeting in San Jose, Ca. I am believing God for a miracle of revival. I as all of you to pray for Travis. Pray for the strength of this 8th grader who wants more of God and is hungry and thirsty after Him. Pray that God will touch him with power on high to massively move the youth group in San Jose to prayer and fasting for revival. Travis was a young man that I was called to pray for and he is a young man that is determined to follow after God. I believe that God is raising him up to do mighty things through him. You all have told me that Bryan Hicks was a young man who God raised up in your midst at a very young age. I have seen that to be true and now we have another "Joshua". Let's pray that millions of "Joshuas" will rise up at The Call, this Saturday!
